I dont think I've bought any E-MU gear that has not needed fixing. I get it, these things all date to like pre 2000. Bad caps, lots of use. I get it.. It does just feel like a pain knowing your going to have to do a bunch of repair work before you can really use things beyond basic testing.
So whats wrong with my E6400 Ultra? Not a lot really. Some mushy switches on the front panel and a totally dead encoder.
The problem is getting to that front board is a real pain in the backside!
I can get a spare board, but that spare board is only compatible with a certain revision motherboard and I wont know what one I have until I remove my front pcb. ugh.
Encoders are easy to replace.
