0 - Time Server

I'm not a timenut or a voltnut... OK thats not totally true, I'm a partial timenut and voltnut. I lust for those Keithley and Agilent bench multimeters that can crank to 8.5 digits, and yes I have a rubidium 10mhz source that came from a Lucent lab.

One of the things I have in my 'lab' is an NTP server. Its really shitty because I am just co-opting one of my existing raspberry pi servers (my DHCP server) to run the NTP daemon to hand out time to my network.

Its shitty because it has to get its time from the internet.

I need something a little closer to home...

Ive been scouring ebay for quite some time, and real time servers are expensive for not shitty, non 30 year old ones.

So I did score, for under $100 bucks and Symmetricom time server, nothing fancy, and its listed as for parts because it boots up with "Time Not Available", which the manual says is the error you get when you dont have a GPS antenna hooked up.

So, hopefully a bargain!

Anyway, more details and pics when it shows up.
